I will never shut up about things I think are important, or stand idly by while ignorance is being so casually passed around from one generation to the next.
We will never fix the system if we refuse to look at things openly and honesty, without prejudice. Yes, it’s broken. Yes, there are things that need to be fixed.
What cannot be fixed is what is some people’s unwillingness to bend. To change. To listen. To think not only of themselves or their families or friends but to see the human race, the ENTIRE human race as one unit.
We should not be seen as the haves and the have nots. We should not be poor, middle-class or wealthy. We should be one. If one of us suffers we all suffer. If one of us succeeds we all succeed.
Opinions are one thing but blatantly ignoring facts and truth and insisting you are correct while standing in a sea of free information stating the opposite is just sad. I cannot and will not raise my children that way and for those of you who were taught or never thought to ask questions, see a different perspective or never wonder why things are the way things are, for you I feel pity.
On the other hand you are entitled to your own opinion. As Evelyn Beatrice Hall said, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”.
That does not make you right. I am not saying I have all the answers. I do not know how to fix the world’s problems. However, I do think education and communication are vital in figuring a way out of this mess we are in. Like it or not, we are all in it together.
